If you’re an owner of the life-logging wristband Sony Smartband 2 SWR12, then of course you’re using their app to sync data to your smartphone and to choose how your wearable will interact with your connected device. The latest update to the Android app brings you several new features and improvements that will help you reach fitness goals and have better control over your connectivity. If you want to use your Smartband 2 as a heart rate monitor, you will also now be able to do so with the help of 3rd party apps.

One of the problems of people who spend most of their time working in front of a screen is that you become stagnant for around 8 hours every day. You can now program your Smartband 2 to remind you when you need to get moving with its, well, Get moving feature. It will send you an alert when you’ve been sitting too long. And when your wearable reaches low battery status, it will automatically enter Stamina mode to save up on energy.

If you don’t like being surprised when your Smartband 2 vibrates on your wrist, you can now set it to low vibration settings. If you have a 3rd party application that needs heart rate data, you can also now use your wearable as a heart rate monitor. The quality of data being logged with your wearable into the app has also now improved.

You can already check your Smartband 2 app on the Google Play Store to see if the update has rolled out to you already. Enjoy getting nagged by your wearable that you’re sitting too much.
