Skype calls over 3G now available with a simple hack

The once Verizon excusive Skype for Android was made available to the masses earlier this week. The application will run on any Android 2.1 or above device and works on a WiFi-only basis. However, this has changed with a simple hack via xeudoxus of DroidForums.

The hack, taking only around 15 minutes to complete, and only one simple download.

To do so:

  • Download this apk
  • Copy and paste it to your memory card
  • Install using a fill manager application

That’s it, that is all it takes to get 3G Skype calling on your Android device. Now we are not sure of the ethics or legality of this “hack” but iPhone users have been calling over 3G, why can’t we… Right?
