If you like, the idea of something like the Yotaphone with its normal LCD and an e-ink screen on the back for notifications and such, but want better specs, the Siswoon R9 Darkmoon might be just the ticket. This smartphone has a standard LCD on the front and an e-ink screen on the back just as the Yotaphone offers.

That’s where the similarities end though because the hardware inside the Darkmoon is more powerful than what the Yotaphone offers. Darkmoon uses 5-inch screens and has an octacore MediaTek MT6752 processor under the hood.

That processor is paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of integrated storage. The smartphone has WiFi, NFC, and has 4G connectivity with support for GSM, WCMA, and FDD-LTE networks. Power comes from a 3,000 mAh internal battery that has integrated Qi wireless charging tech.

The rear camera is a 13MP unit with LED flash and the front camera is an 8MP unit. Other features include GPS, Glonass, Beidou, and the phone will come in black or white colors. Two key details that we don’t know right now are when the smartphone will launch and how much it will cost.
