ShootMe Screen Grab Application Updated, Now Featuring Video Capture

ShootMe Screen Grab Application Updated, Now Featuring Video Capture

ShootMe is by far one of the best Android screen capturing programs out there. It has just received a quite large update bringing in a new UI and even the ability to capture ScreenCasts.

The video capture from the application isn’t the most refined. You will only be getting 10 frames a second when producing ScreenCasts, but it’s worth noting that this is the only application like this that allows such a feature – so we can’t complain.

You can find out a video demo of the application in action from the kind folks at AP, and the application update is available now from the Android Market.

The description clearly states that this will work only on “ROOTED” devices. I tried it anyway but of course it didn’t work. You should update the article.

I have the evo and worked for me without being rooted until I updated my phone to gingerbread :(

Ah Man! I was sooo excited for an Screen Shot App for my Samsung Vibrant but, Heck if I’m going to ROOT my phone! sheesh

  • RichCowell

Just seen a tweet about this app saying it doesn’t need root access, and immediately searched for it, installed it, and was immediately disappointed as it won’t run because my phone’s not rooted…

Pissed off I wasted time finding this app to get an error that it needs root to access low level graphics

Poor editing going on right there

It looks like there has been some confusion regarding the application requiring root access. Even though we were told that does not require root it seems, at least in the current version that it does. The article has been updated. Sad day.

That sucks. Good thing I didn’t update.

I have had this app for some time on my DX. It has always required ROOT access. The screen grabs have been awesome and now that it does video captures makes it even better.

  • Thatzzzlife

wby the F**** does it require root access all of a sudden?!?!?!
It never required this before. NOW suddenly it does. I cant even get it to work on my phone anymore!

  • dyrby

My tablet is rooted but it complains about the app not having access to low level graphics.

How do I grant it this access?

    Thanks!
