Back in November, we caught word that the Sharp Galapagos Android tablets would be hitting Japan in 2010. If you are in the US and want one of the Sharp tablets, you were probably hoping that Sharp would announce the tablets for American in time for the holiday season this year. That didn’t happen, but the good news is that you won’t need to wait long to get the Galapagos tablets if Santa didn’t get you an Android device.

Sharp has now announced that the Galapagos tablets will be coming to the US in early 2011. I would bet that the tablets would get an official date when CES 2011 kicks off early next month. We might even see the things at the show. America isn’t the only place the tablets are headed either.

Sharp has also announced plans to get the tablet into China and India. Sharp will also be offering up its content service in the US and hoping to get publishes to put content on the store that supports EPUB format. Netbooknews reports that the devices that land in the US and other places are expected to be 3G versions of the WiFi only products that launched in Japan. The screens on the tablets are expected to be 5-inch and 10-inch.
