DROID RAZR Review

This month will mark the release of both Motorola and Verizon's new flagship device, the DROID RAZR, and what we've got here is a full review of this device, complete with the whole explosive handful of features and accessories. What we're dealing with here is a 1.2GHz OMAP4 Texas Instruments dual-core processor wielding 4G LTE monster that not only employs the thinnest chassis on a 4G device today, but also reinforces itself with near-unbreakable hardware like a Kevlar back, metal construction on the insides, and a Gorilla Glass panel on the front! Will the 4.3-inch qHD 540 x 960 Super AMOLED Advanced display be the final KO in what at first glance appears to be a true knockout device? Let's have a look!

HTC Vivid Review

The HTC Vivid has the distinction of being one of the first phones to take advantage of AT&T's fledgeling LTE network, a feature it shares with its launch partner the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket. But the Vivid isn't relying on a single bullet point to make its purchase case - the dual-core Gingerbread phone has some high-end specs and a huge 4.5-inch qHD screen. Does the high-end featureset and a fancy new network connection make the Vivid a worthy buy?

Any casual tech observer knows that Android power more than just phones, like tablets, netbooks, and on occasion actual androids. But Samsung's Galaxy Player 5.0 seems like a gadget in search of a problem to solve. Ostensibly a competitor to the iPod Touch, albeit one that's built at a plus-sized scale, this Wifi-only media player may be music to the ears of those who want a huge screen and no phone contract (or, indeed, a phone at all) to worry about.

One of the tiniest Android smartphones I've ever had the pleasure of working with has been in my pocket for the past few days, and that is the Sony Ericsson Xperia ray. This device is extremely small, sleek, and lightweight but that isn't all it offers. We also have an amazing screen, albeit a bit small, and the camera on the rear takes some pretty solid photos for such a small package. We have plenty of thoughts regarding this new Android 2.3 Gingerbread powered smartphone as well as plenty of photos so enjoy it all after the break.

The popular and iconic EVO brand has just added another member to the family this month and that is the new HTC EVO Design 4G. Being the second smallest to carry the title while staying right in the middle with its specifications it should make most users plenty happy. It may not be as large as the big guns like the original EVO but it sure handles its own quite well, not to mention it should only run you a crispy $100 dollar bill. To date there are only eight 4G smartphones available from Verizon, and with the notable exception of the Samsung Stratosphere, all of them are slate-style phones. If you want a keyboard with your LTE, then this is it. The QWERTY slider is very, very similar to the Samsung Epic 4G, with the distinction that it comes on Verizon and features Gingerbread. Today on the chopping block we have the brand new Samsung Galaxy S II headed to T-Mobile. Just like its twin brothers it has an amazing design that is thin and lightweight, but we also have a different, faster 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and a huge 4.52" Super AMOLED display here. We all know plenty about the amazing Galaxy S II superphone already but I'll be comparing it to the new Amaze 4G also on T-Mobile and running a few benchmarks, for now I'll just jump right into the pictures and video for everyone to enjoy.

HTC Rhyme Review

Ladies, the perfect phone for you has arrived! ...or at least that's what you could be forgiven for assuming HTC and Verizon would like you to think. While the marketing for the HTC Rhyme is carefully silent on the issue of gender, it's hard to deny that the color scheme, accessories and feature-set are, at least from a corporate perspective, aimed right the fairer sex. But the draw for the mid-range Rhyme lies in those same accessories (unless you're just dying for a plum-colored smartphone) and the implementation thereof. Does the Rhyme cross the gender divide, or is it just the latest in a long line of pandering “girl phones”? Let's find out.
