Sony Z Ultra Google Play edition bugs hindering usage

Google quietly released some new Google Play edition devices last week. These included the first GPe tablet, the LG G Pad 8.3 and the Sony Z Ultra, which is a phablet with a 6.4-inch display. While the Sony Z Ultra was available for purchase immediately, it now appears the handset has begun shipping with some rather surprising bugs. These touch on security and the ability to uninstall apps.

Verizon HTC One Android 4.3 update beginning this week

Last we heard Verizon and HTC had delayed the Android 4.3 rollout for the One by a month. Nexus 5 refresh brings minor design changes

The Nexus 5 has only been available for a short while, but it looks like that has still been enough time for a quick refresh. Gmail update adds vacation responders, print support and more

The latest Gmail app update has arrived in the Play Store this afternoon. This update brings the Gmail app to version 4.7, but perhaps more important is the bit about the update adding a few new features. The Gmail app gains support for vacation responders, printing and also saw some additional support in terms of attachments.

Android Device Manager app arrives in the Play Store

Google announced the Android Device Manager several months back. Essentially, this is a security feature that will allow you to remotely locate your device on a map or by having it ring. This setup also allows users to remotely lock and also erase the device. Anyway, Google began rolling this out to devices shortly after the original announcement, and while a mobile app was promised, there wasn't much said in terms of when that would be arriving.
