Google Glass XE12 update hits on YouTube, Hangouts and Winks

Google has released the latest update for Glass. This time around the update has landed as XE12, which includes a bit about the iOS companion app. We saw the MyGlass app arrive in the iOS App Store earlier in the day, and it seems this XE12 update is officially paving the way. But as we saw the app arrive, only to be quickly pulled, we now know that Google is planning to release that app sometime "later this week."

Bamboo backed Moto X arrives with Moto Maker

We had know Motorola was planning to release a wood back option for the Moto Maker customized Moto X, however the availability date had been a mystery. And well, the wooden backed Moto X is now available through Moto Maker.

LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play edition tablet getting Android 4.4.2

The LG G Pad 8.3 became the first tablet in the Google Play edition device lineup last week and it looks like this device is living up to the GPe name. The tablet arrived last week with Android 4.4 and we are already seeing the over-the-air arrival of Android 4.4.2.

Sony Z Ultra Google Play edition bugs hindering usage

Google quietly released some new Google Play edition devices last week. These included the first GPe tablet, the LG G Pad 8.3 and the Sony Z Ultra, which is a phablet with a 6.4-inch display. While the Sony Z Ultra was available for purchase immediately, it now appears the handset has begun shipping with some rather surprising bugs. These touch on security and the ability to uninstall apps.

Verizon HTC One Android 4.3 update beginning this week

Last we heard Verizon and HTC had delayed the Android 4.3 rollout for the One by a month. Unfortunately, as that news came back at the end of October, that means those carrying a Verizon branded HTC One have already waited longer than the expected month. So while it would be nice to have seen news of the update beginning today, there is some news that it will be arriving fairly soon.

Nexus 5 refresh brings minor design changes

The Nexus 5 has only been available for a short while, but it looks like that has still been enough time for a quick refresh. A trio of images recently surfaced on the xda-developers forums coming by way of shinral. Anyway, the story goes as follows -- the existing Nexus 5 was having issues and in turn, it was sent in for repair and a new model was received in return.
