NVIDIA SHIELD gets a Black Friday price cut

It looks like NVIDIA is trying to further tempt those who have been considering picking up a SHIELD game system. For Black Friday, or more specifically, for the Black Friday weekend, NVIDIA has lowered the price and is also including a few extras. And just to clarify the weekend timeframe, the Black Friday SHIELD offer will come to a close at 11:59 PST on December 2nd, 2013.

Verizon DROID ULTRA and DROID MINI arrive in white

Verizon has added a new color for the DROID ULTRA and DROID MINI handsets. As of today, both handsets are available in white. This new white model joins the previously available black and red and is basically, the same handsets, just in a new color. Simply put, the pricing and the specs each remain the same as had been.

Samsung Galaxy S5 spec leak tips 16MP camera and 4000 mAh battery

Details of the Samsung Galaxy S5 have been appearing in rumor form for some time now. There have been reports suggesting an announcement was coming in January and a bit of talk about the handset having a 16 megapixel camera. More recently, there was an image leaked showing what was said to be a Galaxy S5 metal frame. And as of today, it looks like some additional specs have surfaced.

PayPal now supporting prepaid gift cards

PayPal has added support for prepaid gift cards. With no coincidence in timing, the folks at PayPal have added this "just in time for the holidays." Basically, this means PayPal users will be able to spend any prepaid gift cards through PayPal Checkout. And while this will also benefit PayPal, it should be helpful for those who have struggled trying to use a prepaid gift card online in the past.

Android camera RAW support and native burst-mode confirmed by Google

Google has confirmed they are working to add RAW image file and native burst shot mode support. This isn't yet available for developers to take advantage of, however it does come as a nice follow-up to the report that surfaced earlier in the month on this very subject. The confirmation comes by way of Google spokesperson Gina Scigliano who mentioned that "Android's latest camera HAL (hardware abstraction layer) and framework supports raw and burst-mode photography."

HTC One “golden” edition gets an official unveil

HTC had been showing off an 18-carat gold One a little while back. And while the availability of that particular model was rather limited, HTC has followed up with something similar. They have introduced a "golden" HTC One. The difference here, this one is gold in color and not a full 18-carat like the earlier model.

Paranoid Android “Immersive Mode” teased ahead of release

Android 4.4 Kit Kat introduced something called Immersive Mode. Basically, this means users are able to go full screen. Immersive Mode is a good option for games and reading apps and allows the system status and navigation bars to be hidden, thus adding a bit more real-estate to the screen. Immersive Mode also removes some of the distraction. The catch comes in with app support though, this is something developers have to enable.
