War veterans can never really retire from the life, especially when an alien invasion is imminent. That is what our intrepid retired soldier discovers just when he was about to start sitting pretty while fishing. Buzz Killem is the latest game from Noodlecake Games, the developer of the hit game Bill Killem (yes, Buzz and Bill are definitely related) and this time, they’re bring their retro-looking arcade platformer to Android smartphones and tablets.

The year is…we don’t really know, but the graphics for the game sure look like it’s set in the 80s, which is not really a bad thing. But all you need to know is that aliens are once again trying to invade the earth (they never stop do they?) and it’s up to Buzz (meaning you) to stop them. With the battles between man and whatever-they-are set in usually “peaceful” places like the Statue of Liberty and Grand Central Station (they said peaceful right?), you need to protect the hordes of people usually present in those areas.

The epic battles are set in multiple stages and you need to accomplish the missions set before you. You can also unlock various outfits, weapons, and power-ups along the way. It’s not just the graphics that are retro here, but even the sound effects, music, and yes, the gameplay, are pretty old-school but fun to relive (if you’ve gotten that far back in the past).

Buzz Killem is available at the Google Play Store for just $0.99. There are several in-app purchases available, so do be careful if someone else will be using your phone to play this game.
