Samsung introduced the Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet back in late-February during Mobile World Congress. At the time they were showing the tablet as being available on one color — white. Since that point we have seen a few bits and pieces about additional colors coming available and as of today, we are now seeing details that another color will be released in a few months.

The important part here, we have yet to hear anything direct from Samsung. Basically, that is to say this should be treated as rumor for the meantime. With that warning out of the way, lets get into the good stuff. The new color is expected to be “Brown Black” and as of now it looks like a release will be coming around the 25th week of the year.

Or in simpler terms, sometime in mid-June. Week 25 actually begins on June 17th. There hasn’t been any images of this Brown Black Galaxy Note 8.0 just yet, however according to the folks at SamMobile, the details of the release are coming by way of an insider at Samsung Benelux. This new color is expected to be available for both the WiFi only and the 3G-equipped models.

Aside from the new color, the specs and features will remain the same. The Galaxy Note 8.0 has an 8.0-inch display at 1280 x 800, quad-core 1.6GHz Exynos processor, 2GB of RAM, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and 5 megapixel rear-facing camera. The tablet is also running Jelly Bean and as one would expect with a Note branded product, it has support for the S Pen.

  1. If only the Note 8.0 wasn’t so ridiculously overpriced. It would be a perfect compliment to my Note II and Nexus 10.

  2. The darker color option is what I have been waiting on, however, I may now get the Note 3 instead. I still feel I could better utilize the features of S-Note on a larger screen though price, screen resolution, and overall versatility may win me over in favor of the Note 3. I’ve been holding back sense November 2012 and its time to put the Galaxy Nexus to rest! ( Pass down to my fiance’ lol)

  3. If a black 32GB version was available the day it was launched, I would have bought one that day, without hesitation.

Now it’s looking increasingly more likely that I will go with the new
Nexus 7 (to replace my old Nexus 7). If the new one has a 7.7″ screen,
    I will probably buy two!
