Samsung is determined to advance the Gear VR technology. The South Korean giant is set to make virtual reality more accessible than ever to more people. The first VR headsets may be expensive but the company has been introducing cheaper alternatives starting with the $99 version that started shipping last month and was recently opened for pre-order in Europe.

Samsung announced a new web browser optimized for Gear VR so you can enjoy browsing on the web in a different way. Officially called as the ‘Samsung Internet for Gear VR‘, this special browser brings a different Internet experience. This development takes web browsing into a whole new level. We never imagined browsing in virtual reality but Samsung is clearly ahead of us and made it possible.

The Samsung Internet for Gear VR is actually an app. Browse the web using the app and see webpages from a different view. Samsung noted of the people’s demand for a more immersive mobile experience that’s why it’s releasing this virtual reality app. Whether you like viewing 360-degree videos or or prefer 3D video streaming, you can enjoy all those content right from your Samsung Gear VR.

It’s simply a web browser in virtual reality so you may ask how is text input possible. Well, there’s an on-screen keyboard, voice recognition, and Gaze Mode. The latter only needs you look at the menus to control although we’re not certain how will it be possible. The optimized web browser for Gear VR is downloadable from the Oculus Store starting today, December 2.

As expected, the latest premium flagship phones like the Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, Galaxy Note 4 and Note5 with Gear VR are supported.
