Samsung Pay

No doubt Samsung Pay has been successful since its launch in South Korea and the United States. The service quickly reached one million users and a total of 1.5 million transactions only within a month in its native country. In the US, it’s been ready for download for Verizon users after launching with a 7-city tour in Dallas, Atlanta, Austin, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

The company recently added support for more credit and debit cards. This way, more people will be able to take advantage of the new mobile payment system although it’s limited to the latest premium Galaxy phones released this year. We’re not sure how many people own a Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy Note 5, or a Galaxy S6 edge+ plus but we’re certain there are a lot of who can’t wait to use Samsung Pay.

Samsung now supports more Mastercard and Visa debit and credit cards including the following:

• Chase Liquid Visa
• Citizens Equity First Credit Union
• Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union
• Security Service Federal Credit Union
• State Employees’ Credit Union
• SunTrust
• Virginia Credit Union
• Navy Federal Credit Union Visa

Samsung Pay account holders who also have any of the cards listed and, of course, the Galaxy phone supported can now enjoy a more efficient cashless shopping. No need to bring out cash or swipe you card as your phone will be enough. Anywhere you can tap or swipe a card, you can pay with Samsung Pay.

This expanded support makes the service a a more “widely accepted mobile payment solution” as described by the Global Head of Samsung Pay Injong Rhee. She said that Samsung looks “forward to building even more momentum around Samsung Pay” and with this expansion “Samsung Pay users will be able to take advantage of the most widely accepted mobile payment solution”.

Note that Samsung Pay works on any terminal magnetic stripe, EMV, or NFC. It’s guaranteed safe and secure because it uses a number of different authorization processes like fingerprint scanning, Samsung KNOX, and tokenization. At present, all three major payment networks used not just in the US but all over the world are supported by Samsung. Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are followed by major banks in the country–U.S. Bank, SunTrust, Bank of America, Navy Federal Credit Union, Citi, and Chase. Other major partners include Worldpay, TSYS, Vantiv, Synchrony Financial, First Data, Global Payments, and Blackhawk Network.
