Samsung has now updated its Galaxy Grand lineup, starting with the Galaxy Grand Max which has been officially launched in India. The South Korean manufacturer has also announced upcoming phones for the Asian market at a forum in Thailand yesterday – the Galaxy Grand Prime 4G, the Galaxy Core Prime 4G, and the Galaxy J1 4G.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand Max carries 5.2-inch HD (720p) display and is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor. This is backstopped by 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There’s a microSD card slot for expansion, and as is par for Asian markets, it has dual-SIM support. There’s a 13MP/5MP camera combo, and all powered by a 2,500mAh battery. The Galaxy Grand Max will run Android 4.4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz UX. Pricing is around USD$257. See the image below.

The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime 4G has a 5-inch qHD (540×960) display, pretty middling at this point. It is powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, supported by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. There will be an 8MP/5MP camera combo and a 2,600mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy Core Prime 4G will be a 4.5-inch phone with a 480p display. It will possibly carry the same Snapdragon quad-core processor, although that remains unconfirmed at this point. There will be the standard 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, plus a 5MP/5MP camera combo. This will be powered by a 2,000mAh battery.

Lastly, the Samsung Galaxy J1 4G will be the weakest of the group in terms of specs, but it also carries the new “one letter” naming convention of Samsung. The J1 4G will be a 4-inch phone with a 480p display. This will most likely have the Snapdragon 410 as well, supported by 768MB of RAM and 4GB internal storage.
