Samsung’s new roundface smartwatch, the Samsung Gear S2, will soon be available in the US market through select major wireless carriers starting in March. The trend to go for a roundface smartwatch, originally pushed by Motorola for the Moto 360, seems to have caught and most major manufacturers have put out their own roundface wearables. The Samsung Gear S2 Classic is one such device, now with 3G connectivity on its own.

The Gear S2 Classic features a leather band and a rotating-bezel design. This gives users a quick, precise way – and may we mention a classic throwback way – to navigate through their notifications, apps and widgets. The Gear S2 features a 1.2-inch circular Super AMOLED display, powered by a dual core 1.0Ghz processor and 512MB RAM. The operating system is Tizen, Samsung’s own proprietary OS that it chooses to use with select devices.

The Samsung Gear S2 is also probably the first device in the market to be eSIM compliant. As the name implies, this ditches the traditional SIM card approach in favor of an electronic/digital one. This helps the device save some space, as even a nano-SIM slot requires space that could otherwise be used for the battery. The battery on the Gear S2 is 300mAh, which translates to around 2 to 3 days of usage.

As yet, there is no information on the pricing, but as March rolls in, we’ll give you guys updates on this. Surely, this is wearable that at least needs consideration for the features it brings to the table.
