We haven’t heard anything regarding a 7.7″ Galaxy Tab until just recently when someone spotted the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 name in the new Samsung Unpacked App. So far that is all we know but don’t worry we will be finding out plenty more this next week at IFA in Berlin. We might even see a new Galaxy S II at IFA if we’re lucky.

The photo shown above, as well as another at the source, claim this to be the new Samsung Galaxy 7.7″ Tab. While the blurrycam image above does get me a little excited as I think a 7.7″ Honeycomb tablet would be an awesome size and just right for portability. Then they have a second photo that makes me a little iffy and start to second guess it. Looking just like the original Samsung Galaxy Tab 7″ in the second photo our sources provide we can’t really be sure what we are looking at.

We know a Galaxy Tab 7.7″ is coming and most likely with a Super AMOLED Display like we saw leaked here. In that and other recent leaks we are lead to believe the new Galaxy Tab would be running on Android 3.2 Honeycomb but the leaked photos show capacitive touch buttons, something we don’t need with Honeycomb. Either way I’m excited to see what Samsung has coming but for now I’ll be taking these photos with a grain of salt. What do you guys think?

  1. The Galaxy Note sounds interesting. I wish someone would come out with a 7-8″ form factor tablet with great specs, stylus support especially software and an affordable price. I would be the first one in line. I think the 10 inch tablets are way too big to carry around.

  3. I don’t believe it to be a fake. But that is just my opinion (based on the excitement and hopes of a new 7.7 tab!!)  Here are a few reasons why;

    – Firstly, there is a second blurry pic of the new product here:

    http://www.themobileindian.com/news/2657_Galaxy-Tab-7.7-tablet-surfaces-online

    – If you closely examine the original 7 inch tab (search: google
    images), the edges are a bit more “square and thick” as opposed to the
    “new” photo which has edges that portray a little more of a sleeker look
    and obviously thinner. (The new 7.7 is SUPPOSED to be thinner than the ipad).

    – Rumor has it, that the new 7.7 may be, well, 7.7 inches! Now, I don’t
    own the original 7 inch, therefor I also do not own the charger..
    HOWEVER.. say one (you) did- with simple math and physics you can find
    out the size of the tab in this “new” photo by simply measuring the size
    of your charger (the part that plugs into the tab- as seen above in the
    photo) because they are obviously the same, and comparing it with the
    size of your 7 incher to this “apparent” 7.7.
    – Why would someone upload a blurry pic of their old 7inch tab? He/she would have to either be brilliant to cause upheaval in the electronic world, or perhaps WANTING a 7 inch tab and thought well hey, if I do this maybe it will stir enough commotion for samsung to make one (which quite frankly is very possible) OR this picture is from someone who is monitored closely to prevent leaks while testing the tab and had a second to snap a pic. Notice the yellow lined paper? Perhaps taking notes on the new tab? Notice the brand spankin new wire?!
    Nonetheless, I’ll believe it when I (really) see it! Lets keep our fingers crossed for the release soon!!! 🙂
