Who says gadgets and devices can’t be both functional and cute at the same time? Definitely not Samsung, as it is trying to reel in that part of the population that has a profound love for the feline celebrity known as Hello Kitty.

Joining the likes of HTC who also recently launched its own pink-themed Butterfly S in Taiwan, Samsung is reported to have a Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 variant ready, sporting Hello Kitty’s branding all over. The smallest Tab 3 tablet was announced in April this year and possesses mid-range hardware. It has a dual-core Exynos 4 CPU running at 1.2 GHz, a 7-inch display with 1024×600 resolution, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage. It’s definitely no Nexus 7 or Kindle Fire HD, but is somewhat decent nonetheless.

This is not the first time Samsung has put on a new costume for the 7-inch tablet. In August, the company announced the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids specifically for, you guessed it, children. It’s doing it again, but this time probably with some grownups in tow. The Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 Hello Kitty Edition will be showcasing Hello Kitty’s iconic face on the back cover of the device as well as on the home button on the front. It will also come preinstalled with a collection of Hello Kitty-themed wallpapers. Unlike the HTC Butterfly S, however, no other accessories seem to be available.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 Hello Kitty Edition is expected to be unveiled around the end of October is price at 229 euros or around $310. For now, it seems that it will only be available on the WiFi variant of the device.
