For the first two premium flagships this year, Samsung used its very own Exynos 7420 processor. That turned out to be a good decision because the smartphones received good reviews and benchmark scores. Skipping the Snapdragon processor was big news for both companies but was quite a disadvantage to Qualcomm. We’ve been hearing rumors that next year’s Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will use the Exynos again, specifically the Exynos 8 Octa 8890 processor. That and a Snapdragon 820.

Two variants of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge each? It’s one interesting decision but we’re excited to know how both processors will deliver. As early as now, we can imagine that the two will be compared endlessly. Well, that will benefit Qualcomm once again and Samsung might draw more attention for using two processors at once.

Model numbers for the variants have been discovered. SM-G930 and SM-G935 will be the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. Different model numbers are also listed for international versions. They are as follows:

Snapdragon 820
• China (SM-G9300, SM-G9350)
• Verizon (SM-G930V, SM-G935V)
• US Cellular (SM-G930R4, SM-G935R4)

Exynos 8 Octa 8890
• Unlocked (SM-G930F, SM-G935F)
• T-Mobile (SM-G930T, SM-G935T)
• AT&T (SM-G930A, SM-G935A)
• Canada (SM-G930W8, SM-G935W8)
• Korean variants (SM-G930 S/K/L, SM-G935 S/K/L)

Not much information have been given by the mystery source so let’s leave this as a rumor for now but the model numbers seem to be legit, following tradition. Let’s wait and see for more leaks and rumors or better yet, an official announcement or if not, a teaser by Samsung.
