Samsung has already confirmed they’ll be announcing and showing off the new Galaxy S4 smartphone next week in New York City, but now they are telling the entire city and teasing us with a few giant billboards. Those on the streets of NYC and walking down Times Square will see a few huge posters and quick reminders as we count the days to March 14th.

The folks from Samsung have placed a couple of huge posters and ads throughout Times Square reminding us to “Be ready 4 the next Galaxy” but they surely don’t give any hints. The company is aiming and projecting to sell nearly 100 million units of their new flagship Galaxy S4, so these billboards are probably just chump change at this point. Well played Samsung.

We still don’t have all the tasty details, but we’ve seen enough leaks and even benchmarks that we have a pretty good idea of what to expect. That being a 4.99-inch 1080p full HD display, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and a few different variations under the hood for the processor. Reports suggest a powerhouse 1.8 GHz Snapdragon 600 quad-core with 4G LTE in the US, then Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa 8-core chip in Europe and internationally all with 2GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage.

The design and look is still a bit of a mystery but recent leaks suggest a more squared off design over the curved corners of the Galaxy S III. One thing we do know, we’ll have all the details next week on March 14th while we’re live in NYC to bring you all the details. Stand-by for pictures and video coming as soon as possible come the 14th. Are you excited to see the next Galaxy?

  1. There aren’t really any real hints as to what is coming on the next phone based on the white and black posters. I really hope that the Galaxy S4 has a better camera and the rumored 1080p display. Since the commute to and from work at DISH takes some time, I like streaming live and recorded shows on my phone. I do this using the DISH Anywhere app, which lets me stream wherever I go, so it’d be great to catch my shows on a higher resolution display.
