Samsung has been on a roll as of late when it comes to software updates for their growing number of Android smartphones. From the Galaxy S II finally getting 4.1 Jelly Bean internationally, to Android 4.1.2 hitting most of their new flagship Galaxy S III smartphones. Today we can confirm the earlier delayed update is now arriving for Telstra customers.

Yup, according to AusDroid the latest official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update from Samsung for the Galaxy S III is hitting those 3G carrier devices on Telstra down under. This is the latest version from Sammy and brings with it the ‘premium suite’ with multi-window mode and more.

We’ve seen this same update arrive for multiple Galaxy S III devices internationally, as well as up in Canada. Sadly they still aren’t quite ready to hit the US carriers with the same release. Telstra’s Crowd Support page currently states “Scheduled to begin staged deployment at 2:00 PM AEDT 4th February” but that day it was quickly pulled after initially rolling out.

According to multiple tips and comments it appears Telstra has resumed the staggered rollout, and users should be receiving it on their handset over the course of the weekend and the next few days. It should arrive soon, or as usual head into settings and manually checked for updates if you’d rather not wait. Let us know how it goes, and enjoy those Jelly Beans.

  1. I have a S3 and I live in Canada. We do NOT have 4.1.2. We are on 4.1.1. We do have some features from the premium suite, like smart rotation and page buddy, but we do not have multi view or the ability to change the notification toggles, which I am more pumped for than multi view. Hopefully we get the update soon.
