Cricket Wireless has announced the upcoming availability of the Samsung GALAXY S 4. The handset will be available beginning on June 7th and will be providing another option for those looking to grab a GALAXY S 4 under a prepaid account. Of course, on the flip side of that, buying a prepaid device means you will not be getting any subsidy and that means a higher upfront purchase price.

Thankfully Cricket Wireless seems to have that taken care of. The carrier is offering two purchase options. Users will be able to pay for the device in full, which means a purchase price of $599.99 or pay a downpayment with monthly payments. The monthly payment option does apply to what Cricket refers to as “qualifying” customers, however it means an initial layout of just $54.99.

Otherwise, Cricket has several options for calling/data plans. The GALAXY S 4 is eligible for use under the (available for a limited time) Cricket 4G LTE Android Muve Music Double Data service plan which offers “double the monthly full speed data allowance offered in 3G rate plans.” These begin at $50 per month and will give users 2GB of full-speed data. Additionally, these plans can be upped to $60 per month with 5GB of data or $70 per month with 10GB of data.

These plans also include unlimited talk and text. And just for comparison, the $50 plan normally offers 1GB of data with the higher level plans offering 2.5GB and 5GB. Shifting away from the plans, the GALAXY S 4 retains the same specs and features that many have already become familiar with. The specs include Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and roll into a 5-inch 1080p display, quad-core 1.9GHz Qualcomm processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 2600 mAh battery, 2 megapixel front-facing camera and 13 megapixel rear-facing camera.

Finally, as the Cricket GALAXY S 4 will have LTE support, some may be curious as to where the coverage is available. Cricket has LTE available for those in Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Tucson, Phoenix, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Laredo, Corpus Christi and the Brownsville-McAllen-Harlingen market, Texas. In total, the company’s LTE service is said to cover approximately 21 million potential customers.
