Samsung is aiming to dominate the super-sized smartphone market with their new Galaxy Note III later this year, and now we have a potential release date. As we already know, the Galaxy Note III will be revealed on September 4th in Germany at Samsung’s Unpacked media event, but now new sources claim it will ship that week too.

According to sources over at SamMobile, the folks from Samsung will be shipping the massive 5.68-inch smartphone to multiple carriers the first week of September. Then once they reveal the device on the 4th they will follow that announcement up with an even bigger one. That being that the Note III will hit shelves in mid September, which means pre-orders could potentially open on the 4th or 5th.

The report goes on to state that mid September we’ll see the Samsung Galaxy Note III on shelves and in customers hands, then sometime in October Samsung will also release the Galaxy Gear Smartwatch. A device they’ll also be unveiling come early next month.

For those who haven’t been keeping track, hit the timeline of links below for more details. The Galaxy Note III is set to have a massive full 1080p 5.7-inch display, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, and 8-cores in some select regions, 3GB of RAM, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, and a stunning 13 megapixel camera with full optical image stabilization. Yes, a beast of a smartphone, and it’ll be just as small as the Note II even with a bigger battery, higher specs, and a larger display.

We’ll be there live, of course, so stay tuned come September 4th right here at Android Community!

  1. Dear all – do Samsung provide any software tools to allow the seamless transfer of contact info from an Apple iPhone (4) to their phones especially the Note II or even the upcoming Note III.
    Thanks
