If you own a Samsung Galaxy Note 5, don’t think that your phone will be left behind now that the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are already out. We’re expecting the Galaxy Note 6 will be unveiled middle of the year but before that happens, the Note 5 is ready to receive the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow after the beta testing we noted and the images leaked a few weeks ago.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (model no. SM-N920C) is ready to receive Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow (build no. N920CXXU2BPB6). The latest version is ready for release in Cambodia via the Samsung Smart Switch. Over-the-air (OTA) notifications should be released anytime soon.

As with the other Android Marshmallow releases, this software update offers new mobile features like Google Now on Tap, Doze mode, Samsung browser with ad blocker, better battery life, and minimal changes on the design like the notification area and status bar. Some changes may not be noticeable to the ordinary eyes but there are definitely performance improvements.

If you still haven’t received an over-the-air alert, you can check Settings> About device> Software update manually. Rollout will happen in batches so just be patient if you don’t see your update ready yet.

  1. Is this article written for those who stay in Cambodia? I’m sure majority of them don’t speak English. Why old anyone with a note 5 be worried about the s7. These are 2 different flagship if anything s6 owners should be worried.

  2. I’ve read else where that there is some problems with this update, such as battery drain. Dosent bother me that Cambodia is playing the part of the guinea pig.
