Samsung has unveiled the latest in the Galaxy line of devices. This one is the Galaxy Core LTE, though depending on the market, it may also be known as the Galaxy Core 4G. To that point, Samsung plans to have this handset available for those in Europe and Russia, as well as select countries in Asia.

The Galaxy Core name may have a bit of familiarity as we have seen other variants here. Samsung has previously introduced the Galaxy Core, as well as the Galaxy Core Advance and Galaxy Core Plus. But putting those to the side, this time around Samsung is touting the handset as one that has “enhanced performance” along with a “premium design and a wealth of innovative smart features.”

The Galaxy Core LTE will have a 4.5-inch qHD display, dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. A microSD memory card slot will be available and will support cards up to 64GB in size. Other specs for the Galaxy Core LTE include a 2100 mAh battery, VGA quality front-facing camera and 5 megapixel rear-facing camera.

As well, the basics such as WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and A-GPS with GLONASS can all be expected. The handset measures in at 132.9 x 66.3 x 9.8 mm in size, and will arrive running Android 4.2.2, which Samsung has listed as being Jelly Bean Plus. While Samsung has offered the full set of specs, and markets for release, they have yet to say when they handset will arrive, or how much it will be selling for.

  1. Had to double-check the date of this article with specs like that! I’m guessing based on its name that this phone is meant for mid-tier users who have no need for a superphone.

    • My dad has the T-Mobile LG Optimus L9 with similar specs and I’m surprised how well it runs even compared to my Nexus 4, Galaxy S III and Nexus 7 2013.
