Samsung device surfaces on Developer Center packing 720p HD screen, but is it a phone or a tablet?

Samsung device surfaces on Developer Center packing 720p HD screen, but is it a phone or a tablet?

We have a bit of a mystery today with some scant details of a new Samsung device turning up on the Developer Center. The details are very scarce and in fact, we don’t even know if we are looking at a tablet or a smartphone. The only hard fact the mysterious posting does point out is that the screen res is 1280 x 768 and it supports 16M colors.

We also know that whatever the device is will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The model number listed is SHV-E120S, not that the number means anything to us. There is some speculation that this may in fact be a smartphone. With that screen resolution, it would be the highest res smartphone Samsung offers. I think it is more likely to be that Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 we have talked about before.

The screen resolution would be really high for the roughly 4-inch screens most of the high-end Android smartphones sport (not that it can’t happen). The 1280 x 768 resolution would put the device right between the resolution of the smallest Galaxy Tab and the big Galaxy Tab 10.1 though. I am thinking this may be the Galaxy Tab 8.9.

Seems it’s a new Anycall (Samsung’s mobile phone brand in Korea) phone not tablet. The link below is to a T-store delevopers page. T-store is the mobile phone content (apps, ringtones, wallpapers, etc) store for SKT (SK Telecom).
