Remember sliders – what seemed to be the thing of the early 2000’s before smartphones came mainstream and pushed them into the history books? Well, it looks like Samsung is readying the release of a new Android-based QWERTY slider for Sprint as some images of the device have hit the web.

Obviously taking some design elements from a BlackBerry, this new device will be powered by Android rather than the former standard Windows Mobile. No word as to when the device will be made available but expect some sort of release (although probably not big) at the Sprint event on February 7th or MWC in a couple of weeks. We’ll be live at both of them – so stay tuned!

  1. UHG!! What the hell is with Sprint and sliders? How about an update for the Evo 4G?! Something in the way of dual core. I luv ya Sprint, but come on already!

  2. I would pick up a slider today if it were an actual upgrade to the old Epic 4G. It was a great phone that has not yet seen a proper replacement. I wouldn’t mind getting another 5-7 mm of thickness if it came with a 5-row keyboard and a good processor.

Of course, those of use that want physical keyboards are either offer crap for phones or ignored altogether.
