We had a feeling Samsung would be throwing us a curve ball today at their Premiere Event in London, and they’ve done just that. The folks from Sammy have just announced the convertible, dual-booting Windows 8 and Android 4.2.2 powered ATIV Q tablet. Rocking a massive 13.3-inch “world’s highest resolution” qHD+ 3200 x 1800 display. Wow! More details after the break.

So far we’re waiting for all of the details, but Samsung has just thrown us for a loop. Along with announcing their impressive new Galaxy NX Camera, we now have a full Windows 8 and Android tablet. There’s a few key aspects to the ATIV Q aside from that massive screen, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it.

The ATIV Q does what Samsung called “truly marrying the mobile and PC experiences” by allowing users to not only dual-boot between Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Windows 8, but transfer files to share folders and files from Windows 8 to Android. Seamlessly, and with ease. Now that’s impressive. We can even pin ANDROID apps to the Windows 8 homescreen. Click it, it will instantly switch to Android with ease. Awesome! I want one already.

The ATIV Q sports a brand new and innovative hinge design that will allow users to use this as a PC, laptop, tablet, and more with 4 unique positions and angles to enjoy both operating systems. Jeez. The four-in-one design along with having the versatility of Android on board really makes this nice. However, I’m more interested in getting my eyes on that stunning QHD+ 3200 x 1800 display coming in at 13.3 inches. Intel Haswell is under the hood, Intel’s latest and greatest processor. So we’ll get stunning battery life.

We’re not sure how comfortable it will be holding a 13.3-inch slate, but that’s what their innovative 4-in-1 stand is for. Stay tuned for all the details regarding internal specs, and we’ll get hands-on as soon as humanly possible. Oh and Samsung couldn’t forget the S-Pen stylus. The ATIV Q will have full stylus support on both Windows and Android, so we’ll enjoy the slew of Note features we’re familiar with on Android.

Update: Here’s our hands-on pictures, video coming soon!

  1. WOW this is amazing, i just hope the price is reasonable as i was looking to buy the Asus Zenbook Infinity but this tablet hybrid threw me off the cliff!! Good job Sammy

      • YESS!!! Thank you so much! I just hope the price is not too much, i’d pay 1200$ for this

      • $1200 are you nuts? you obviously work for Samsung or their marketing company. Go troll somewhere else please….pathetic

      • Your brain is obviously too small to realize that such a tablet, with such specs, such size, with a dual-boot windows 8 and android will never be sold for under a grand. I mean please, haswell cpu, 1800p screen,13.3 inches, a tablet, please find me anything even close to this for under 1500$. Before you come and make a fool out of yourself, go study the market a little more

      • how did it feel?? solid? plastic, im a fan of the zenbook series because of the premium material, how does the Q stand out?

    • It probably can, since it has an Intel Has well processor. I doubt Samsung would dual boot Android and Windows RT haha.

      • It is full Windows 8, not the RT version. So, with that processor and 4 GB of RAM, yes you could! But I really do not understand that ”-1” on your both posts! You have just said a reality! Ohhh…Apple, Nokia, or Sony fanboys! That is the problem!
