If you’re the type of person who exercises better when it’s done in tandem with other people, then the newly-updated S Health should bring you additional motivation in your workout. That’s because the app has now been streamlined to explore both the idea of personal health as well as the social aspect of it so you and your friends could motivate each other towards your fitness goals. The update also brings a new discovery feature that should let you find out more tips and tricks as you go through your new, healthy lifestyle.

S Health version 5.0 now has a streamlined user interface, dividing it into three tabs in your home page instead of the main dashboard. You’ll see the Me, Together, and Discover tabs in order for you to manage your data and information better. The Me section of course contains all the usual information that you’re used to getting from S Health, including the type of activity you’re engaged in, whether it’s running, cycling, or any of the 44 different activities it can detect and record. There’s also now an Ask Experts section where you can post your questions to healthcare professionals, but this feature is only available in South Korea for now.

The Together tab has all the social aspects of the service so you can find “extra motivation” as you connect with other S Health users. You can compete with them in the Challenges and Leaderboards so you can see who reaches their fitness goals faster, which should serve as reason enough for you to try harder if you see someone ahead. There are also more casual competitions like the Steps Challenge. Your data here can also be shared on your social networks, in case you want to brag or inspire others too.

Lastly, the Discover tab gives you healthy living and workout tips and related articles, health information, and other relevant news that you may want to be aware of. It could be anything from articles about sleep, nutrition, cardio health, even recipes. You can update your Samsung Health app now, if your phone is running Android 4.4 and above.
