Forbes reports that some of Qualcomm’s good fortunes are thanks to the Google Android operating system. Qualcomm is a founding memory of Google’s Android focused industry consortium called the Open Handset Alliance.
Android phones have proven to be very popular and Qualcomm is the chip provider for several devices already on the market and more Android phonies are coming this year. In this respect, Qualcomm’s fortunes are very timed to those of Android. The company sees android as a strong portion of its product portfolio.
