PhoneFusion has officially released their Fusion Voicemail Plus service for Android. Now G1 owners won’t go without the luxury of being able to see whom your voicemail is from and listen to them in the order in which you wish.

As promised the guys over at PhoneFusion have reworked the Android version so that it looks a lot better than previous version of other phones. Go ahead and download this application for free in the Android Market and let us know what you think. Will you use it, and how can this application be application be improved?
Louis Libin, chief executive officer for PhoneFusion said, “With the launch of T-Mobile’s G1, the first Android-powered smartphone, people have been looking for an innovative visual voicemail app that runs on this breakthrough device. We believe Fusion Voicemail Plus fills this gap, giving the Android community a better way to stay connected when it matters most. We expect this application will quickly become one of the favorites on Android Market.”

This is very frustrating. I'm up that I did something wrong but I believe I've followed instructions completely.
Otherwise it is GREAT!..
I am a bit confused...

QUESTION: Is there any way to turn off the text message notification? It is redundant as the notification center already let's me know I have a VM.
ALSO CONCERNED that the text messages will eat up my 400 texts/mo plan and cost me money.
Emailed PFusion cust. support they say there is no way to turn it off, so if you guys know how please let me know.

Yeah, I don't text that much so no need for unlimited...once they figure out a way to turn off notification this will be golden.

Hmmm.. Did you get the email after your registered?
The extra text message is how the phone knows there is a new voice message:
1) call gets forwarded to phonefusion
2) they take voicemail
3) send you a textmessage
4) their software must be watching incoming text messages from their number
5) reads the code in the text message (guessing)
6) pops up with a new voicemail in the app, (info probably gleaned from the code in text message)
I don't like that it doesn't just use push/pull like e-mail. I tihnk if you combine this with youmail then it would be perfect.
But in reality i don't like my voicemail not working if some 3rd party system goes down. I think i'm going to regular voicemail.
Nice try phonefusion, i'm not ready to hand over that function to you.

Q. Can I stop the text messages that are sent to my G1 when I get a new message? The message looks like this: PFVM00000900000000000000. And why are they all in a single thread instead of individual messages?
A. Unfortunately there is a design limitation in the G1 OS and there is nothing we can do to stop these text messages in their current format, as this is a Google restriction within the OS.
Q. How do I register my Fusion Voicemail Plus application on my G1?
A. In order for the application to work correctly you must install the application using the Android Market option within your device. At that point you will be brought to a web page to register your account.
Please keep the emails coming at androidfeedback@phonefusion.com

2. go to the website that the program tells you to go via your computer, can do it through the g1 but it doesn't optimize the site very well
3. register your phone number and make sure to write down the account number/user login that they gave you, as well as the password/pin that they sent you via text
4. after registration and installation of the market app is completed, go to settings > call settings > call forwarding on your g1 and enter the following:
Forward when busy
Forward when unanswered
Forward when unreachable
for all these sections put the voicemail number for fusion one, which is +1-813-200-0200
an alternative way of making all the forwarding features enabled and with the voicemail phone number is to use the following command on your dailer application:
*004*18132000200#
and then press the send button... this command will enable your call forwarding and activate all of these options with that voicemail number... after you press send a box should pop up and say "Call forwarding service was enabled."
To double check that this is right, you can go back to settings > call settings > call forwarding and all numbers should show the new voicemail number
after that, log into your online account and send the test voicemail or try leaving yourself a voicemail message, it should work fine from then on...
obvious recommendation fusion team would be to add simplified directions for each phone model etc in your knowledge base... your online layout is horrid at best for your FAQ and knowledge base... the PDF's i don't mind cause i like it, but for general users its even more confusing...
Also as someone else asked, is there a way to change / customize the VM greeting?
Otherwise, this looks very promising!!!

plus, for some reason, my voicemails didn't come through after switching back to the number above. disabled call forwarding and it started working again.
Maybe the next version.
This is very frustrating. I'm up that I did something wrong but I believe I've followed instructions completely.
-That annoying text message.
-The issue with my contacts not synching
-The ability to play the message by touching a specific message listing. I don't want to touch and get options. I want to simpy be able to touch the message listing and hear it playing immediately.
-The tedious enrollment process (having to manually re-enter all my phone contacts and their CARRIER info on your website is just not intuitive.
Let me brutally honest: This thing is garbage.
The iPhone one looks and works great..
The whole interface and overall execution of the phonefusion version plain out sucks..
text message or e-mail alerts
easy set up
custom voice mails for each and every caller
import contacts from gmail.com e-mail automatically
accessible online and with G1 browser
hands down, the best
Setting up Call Forwarding is also streamlined now with simple tap.
I'm loving it a lot better now.
Text messages still get sent with every voicemail though!

I work in a hospital and when im in the basement i dont get signal. Then when i get back on the network i dont get the voicemail. I kinda understand that it wouldnt know who called via my phone book. But what im having a problem with is the txt message that i get. i'm not able to check my messages. I tried to look at the txt message you get with every voice mail to see if i could call a number and listen to the voice messages. Any ideas?

Yea. I spent sometime reading their privacy policy. Didn't get anywhere, I hate reading them.
I contacted them about this and I was told to uninstall/reinstall cause it might be an SD issue. I did and still nothing? No clue what to do????

I have e-mailed the developers and asked that they include an option to set the notification of phone fusion as there are many times I would like to have my phone set to ring but not have sounds played when I receive msg's.
Trying to change my forwarding number I receive:

Can you set the number by:
Pressing Menu -> Settings -> Call Settings -> Call forwarding
E-mail the developers and let them know you want to be able to set your notification preferences maybe that will help, or at least help me.
