With Meerkat seemingly content to just change its business model rather than go against the juggernauts, it’s up to Periscope and Facebook Live to duke it out as to which is the best livestream video app out there. And Twitter’s Periscope isn’t going down without a fight. The latest soon to be released update will bring new features like searching for broadcasts, drone support, and also the ability to save your streams in a later update.

In case you wanted to find other streams that are currently live (or soon, will be saved on their accounts), you will be able to search for broadcasts through their title or topic. If you also don’t know what to search for, when you tap the search button, you will see a list of suggested topics, like #food, #music, #travel, etc. And if what you want to broadcast is related to a topic there, just add the hashtag to your title and then start broadcasting.

They will also be introducing two new search topics that you can look at. First Scope is for those newbies into the Periscope community, while the GoPros and Drones section is for, you guessed it, live streams that use GoPros and drones. The broadcasting through Drones is for now, only available for iPhones, but hopefully, it will come to Android soon.

Last week we told you about the beta testing that Periscope was doing so that you can save your live streams permanently. They have now found a way for it to be easier, once the update to the app finally arrives. Instead of adding #Save to the title of your broadcast, the streams will now be automatically saved onto your account. You can also choose to delete if you don’t want to keep it. So let’s wait for the update to enjoy all of these new features.
