Android 4.1.2 hitting AOSP today – minor update only

With all these Nexus rumors floating around showing Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean I'm sure many are excited for the possibilities of this landing on AOSP. Earlier today Google's head engineer Jean-Baptiste Queru announced that Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean will be pushed to the Android Open Source Project. Calling it a minor update with fixes and improvements. More details below.

LG e960 leaks in the wild, could be the LG Optimus G Nexus

We've been hearing quite a bit of news lately about the next Google Nexus smartphone, many of which are claiming the device will be made by LG. What we have below is some odd photos of a prototype LG device running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, looks very similar to the Optimus G, and has a casing around it hiding its final design. Sounds a bit like what we've seen in the past from Samsung, and even Apple to hide final designs. Could this be the LG Optimus Nexus?

Nexus 7 32GB model shipped from Play Store in Japan

Last week there was tons of speculation and rumors floating around that Google and ASUS were preparing to release a 32GB Nexus 7. Then the 32GB model showed up in a few online inventory systems, and adding fuel to the fire stated an October 24th release date. Today is our biggest hint with a reader claiming he purchased the 16GB model from the Google Play Store in Japan, only he received a 32GB model instead.

Source code for Open webOS Galaxy Nexus port goes public

When it comes to Open webOS on Android, things seem to progressing rather quickly. Open webOS isn't even a week old yet, but within a few hours after HP released it, it was already booting on the Galaxy Nexus. Just a couple of days later we saw it booting on the Transformer Prime, and today, the source code for the Galaxy Nexus port has been posted online, so the open source community can officially go nuts.
