Samsung to reveal “The Next Galaxy” on May 3

After months and months of speculation, to say nothing of a truly unprecedented amount of rumor and fakery, Samsung has finally set an announcement date for what will almost certainly be the Galaxy S III. The Samsung-only event will be held in London on Thursday, May 3rd, fulfilling their commitment to announce the Galaxy S II's successor outside of the usual trade show venues like Mobile World Congress. Naturally there's no other official details to be had at the moment, but the event is being christened "Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2012", setting up months before last year's October event.

Ice Cream Sandwich Samsung event official: October 19th in Hong Kong

Who is finally ready for some Ice Cream? Just hitting the wires we now can officially confirm that Google and Samsung are all set to unveil the Galaxy Nexus and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich next week on Wednesday, October 19th in Hong Kong at 10AM. Yes the Samsung Mobile unpacked that was canceled last minute will now take place next week, so the wait is only 6 more days. I'm giddy with excitement, what about you guys?

Rumor: Samsung and Google’s Nexus Prime event rescheduled for October 27 [UPDATED]

Android enthusiasts the world over got a nasty shock this morning when they learned that the Samsung Unbox event, long rumored to unveil the Nexus Prime and Ice Cream Sandwich, had been booted out of CTIA on October the 11th. According to an anonymous source from The Next Web, that event has been moved back to October 27th, possibly set at a London venue. At the time of writing, there is no confirmation from either Samsung or Google.

The official Android Developers YouTube channel has now confirmed we will see Android 2.4 (or 4.0) Ice Cream Sandwich detailed at the CTIA Samsung Unpacked event next week. While this isn't a big surprise seeing it from the official channel makes it even more official. So, we all know the new Samsung Nexus is coming, I'm calling it the Galaxy Nexus but you can call it whatever you'd like. To start I'll mention that we will be live at Samsung Unpacked for the event next week that everyone expects Google and Samsung to unveil this, so stay tuned as we'll have all the accurate details right from the source as soon as humanly possible -- with tons of pictures. Some specs were leaked this morning stating a 5 MP camera and a few other things but now we are seeing plenty of rumors and conflicting stories and just wanted to update and share what we've seen.

Samsung Nexus Prime specs leaked, Verizon only in the US

The Nexus Prime leaks are coming fast and furious on the lead-up to Samsung's Mobile Unbox event on Tuesday. BGR has a source that lays out all of the juicy details on Google's next developer phone, including that it will be exclusive to Verizon Wireless in the United States. The details line up with what we've seen rumored over the last few weeks, except that the source claims the official name for the phone is the "Galaxy Nexus".
