T-Mobile Sidekick 4G Hands-On

Here at CTIA 2011 we've been granted the opportunity to get a slightly early hands-on with the first Sidekick to be jam packed with Android goodness. This device comes in two color schemes, one of them with a black underside and white back, the other with a white underside and pink back. This phone, in my own personal opinion, marks a turning point for Android, one where devices running Google's mobile OS are aimed at the feminine instead of just the masculine brute in us all, that one who loves every color just so long as it's BLACK!

Making things even better for everyone, they just announced the new G2x, a Google Experience device that is made by LG. Today is the announcement but last week we heard news of an April 20th release.

T-Mobile Sidekick 4G by Samsung Announced with Android [And There Was Much Rejoicing]

Remember that phone that was originally made by a group called "Danger" by it's first name "Danger Hiptop." That was way back in 2002 (ancient history!) Danger was picked up by Microsoft, and long story short, in 2009, Microsoft suffered an outage that screwed up basically ever Sidekick user across the USA as well as parts of the UK. There was a long period of no Sidekicks during 2009, then on July 2nd, 2010, a date that will live in infamy, the Sidekick was discontinued. Until NOW when this epic phone that's gone through several iterations since birth when Samsung and T-Mobile team up again with a brand NEW partner, ANDROID, all of them here to bring you the 2011 T-Mobile Sidekick 4G!

HTC Thunderbolt Skype video support slips

The bad news continues to mount for the HTC Thunderbolt as word is getting around that video chat using Skype will not be available when the 4G phone reaches customers on February 28th. A leaked page from BestBuy.com shows Skype's video chat feature will not be available as planned. But slipped dates are nothing new for this HTC Phone. As you recall from last week, it's launch date slipped a week. So chances are, we'll see Skype video calling down the road, but the question is, when?

Samsung Galaxy Tab Maintenance Update EA24

If you've got a Samsung Galaxy Tab on the Sprint network, you'll be noticing an update being pushed to your device today or tomorrow, this update being for several bugs and enhancements. Amongst these are new drivers for your LCD supplier, a QIK software update to 0.04.77 that will overlay the version you've currently got on your device, and Exchange email fixes you probably wont even notice.

Shooting for the Center – Why the Galaxy S 4G will Win the Mid-Tier Android Wars of Early 2011

If you've been following this game along closely, you know what we're up against as far as Super Phones. Motorola Atrix 4G, LG Optimus 2X, HTC ThunderBolt - am I missing any? With massive speeds from dual-core Tegra 2 processors, gigantic cameras, and "most powerful" tags being thrown around, what ground is left for the Galaxy S 4G? Why, the middle ground of course. That special place for people that've had an Android phone before but don't quite want to shell out $300 to $600 for a superphone that they won't know what to do with anyway. That place where customers want it to go fast, they want it to work, and they want it to look basically sort of nice on the outside. This is Galaxy S 4G range.

Behold the next generation of Galaxy S phones, flowing hard and fast on T-Mobile's 4G network, these lovely machines work with mobile HD TV, come stocked with the movie INCEPTION, and have a cute 4-inch super AMOLED touch screen display. What other secrets lie in wait? Not just a whole lot more. But you know what? It's gonna be a pretty solid phone nonetheless - and from a carrier we know to be amongst the most reliable (unless you know different?), T-Mobile. It's the next level of outer-space, this time speedier.

Android Community Daily Wrap Up: January 14 2011

Today was pretty epic. There's a crapstorm going down and it's right in the midst of Samsung and T-Mobile, but mostly Samsung. The Samsung Fascinate is the subject matter and the event is the no-show of an Android 2.2 Froyo update PLUS the telling by a supposed insider of how the Fascinate's update is being held back so that the new version can be sold better. Today there was a backlast! A The Class Action Lawsuit in the morning, a little bit later in the afternoon a #NeverAgain Twitter Campaign, and in the evening the inevitable Samsung Response. That enough to tide you over? I hope so, all we've got to get through to see the rest of the links is this lovely picture right here!
