NVIDIA unveils 5 new Tegra HD games at E3

As most gaming fans should already know, the E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) is underway in Los Angeles today and NVIDIA is apparently bringing the heat for Android. NVIDIA has just unveiled not one or two, but five brand new Tegra 2 and Tegra 3 optimized THD games for Android phones and tablets headed to the Tegra Zone. As the summer starts in earnest, we've got some exciting news for Android fans everywhere. Most notably that Oracle's lawsuit against Google over various Java copyrights and patents has effectively ended, and in Google's favor to boot. While Oracle could appeal the decisions on its APIs and software patents, odds are unlikely that they will. We've also seen the very first reputable evidence of Google and ASUS' Nexus Tablet collaboration, the Nexus 7, and the ASUS MeMO 370T (rumored to be the base device) made it through the FCC.

Because We May game sale brings great indie deals

Game developers are an opinionated bunch, they're thrilled that modern distribution platforms like Steam and the Google Play Store allow them to cut out the publisher middleman. To celebrate this, an impressive conglomeration of developers has banded together to create the Because We May promotion, running from today until June 1st. Almost sixty Google Play Store games have been put on sale, all of them at least half off and some of them even more.

Android game developers: innovate, don’t emulate

I have a confession to make: I almost never use any of my Android devices for gaming. If I want to play video games, I either find a truck to jump-start my ancient desktop computer or turn on my even more ancient Dreamcast. The fact that I'm terrible at touchscreen controls (and I am) is only part of the problem: there just isn't enough innovation on the mobile platform for me to choose it over more traditional forms of gaming.
