OnePlus intros non-Cyanogen ROM, still on alpha

OnePlus may be having some issues in India but it's not stopping the young Chinese phone manufacturer to work on new projects. We knew that it was working on a new ROM and OnePlus forum members were even asked to name it via a contest a couple of weeks ago. OnePlus is finally launching its own custom ROM although it's not the final version yet. According to the company, the early build doesn't have any extras aside from the AOSP Lollipop stock features.

OnePlus and Cyanogen go head-to-head in India

When in a span of a month, you see Cyanogen make an exclusive agreement with Indian retailer Micromax, and then you see OnePlus break their exclusive “invite only” purchasing process to launch a new purchasing avenue for the Indian market, you know there was something big brewing. To put quite shortly, it looks like OP has been wronged, but because of a court decision – it looks like it won’t be able to continue selling the OnePlus One phone in India.

Cyanogen won’t update OnePlus Ones bought in India

It seems that Cyanogen, Inc., the commercial entity spun out of CyanogenMod's core developers (and not the open source CyanogenMod community itself) is flip flopping a bit on the issue of OTA updates on the OnePlus One in India. After reassuring OnePlus One fans and owners that it will continue to roll out updates worldwide, even in India, it now clarifies a caveat that it failed to mention before. It won't be updating Indian OnePlus One devices.

People who have gotten used to using these apps have no choice to download them individually and install them onto their devices – until now, of course. The CM App Installer brings all these apps under one downloader and allows you to get them, even for your non-CM operating system.

There is also the new Themes Studio for uploading and publishing themes to grow a theming community around the Android-based operating system.
