CM10.1 nightlies arrive for the CDMA Galaxy Note II
Some good news for CyanogenMod fans that happen to be sporting a CDMA Galaxy Note II. It looks like CM10.1 nightlies have finally arrived. As always, we offer the warning -- the nightly builds, while generally stable, are nightlies for a reason. Simply put, these are early builds and probably best when not used on your primary device.

Say goodbye to the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus
With no help from Verizon Wireless it looks like one of the most promising and exciting smartphones from last year has reached the end of its life. We're talking about the 4G LTE powered Samsung Galaxy Nexus on Verizon. Being the first "Nexus" (and I say that gently) to be available with 4G LTE and the nations largest carrier, it was a big deal. Sadly it wasn't a big deal to Verizon and recently it took its last breath.

The folks at Cyanogen began releasing M-Series (monthly) builds of CM10 last year, however these were later suspended when the priority shifted towards CM10.1. And well, it looks like the first of the CM10.1 M-Series builds have come available. These of course, come by way of the CyanogenMod website and just like the previous monthly builds -- are available only for select devices.

Motorola Atrix 2 users get Jelly Bean through official ROM leak
If your phone of choice is the Motorola Atrix 2, then you were probably disappointed to find out that Motorola isn't planning to upgrade the device to Jelly Bean. Last year, the company revealed a list of devices it will be upgrading to Jelly Bean in the coming months, with the Atrix 2 stuck in the column of handsets that are eligible for a $100 credit toward the purchase of a new Motorola phone. That unfortunately means that Jelly Bean just isn't in the cards, so what's an Atrix 2 owner to do?

CyanogenMod 10.1 users can now customize the NavigationBar
CyanogenMod users received a nice little feature update yesterday. That one came in the form of being able to maximize your lock screen widgets. And as we mentioned, this is one of the nicer points of running a CyanogenMod ROM -- new features from time to time. Or at the very least, new features more often than those who use stock ROMs.

CyanogenMod users can now maximize lock screen widgets
Sneaking in alongside the CES 2013 coverage, we have a bit coming from the folks at Cyanogen. This latest is a smaller feature, but based on what we have seen, it was once a "highly requested feature" amongst those using Cyanogen. In other words, smaller feature addition or not, this one should be well received.

And for those of you who have stuck with the stock ROM and are now ready to make the jump to custom ROMs -- as you will be going from Gingerbread to Jelly Bean, this will be a big jump. That said, read on to find out a bit more about this release.
