CES 2012 Android Wrap-Up

The Consumer Electronics Show is the grandaddy of 'em all when it comes to technology conferences, and with Android's rise to the top of the mobile world, that means there was plenty of phones and tablets on hand. For consumers, the big guns at Samsung, HTC, Motorola and Asus were out in full force. most of the devices seen at the 2012 show will be appearing on shelves in the next six months or so. Sony Ericsson drops another Xperia phone teaser ahead of CES

Lucky number three. Today Sony Ericsson has posted their third teaser image sporting what looks to be the new Sony Ericsson Xperia flagship smartphone they'll be unveiling at CES. If all of the previous rumors and leaks turn out to be accurate this will be the Xperia Arc HD (aka Nozomi) -- but we could also be seeing multiple new devices from Sony at this years show as this new image looks different than the Nozomi.

Sony Ericsson teases HD cameraphone for CES

CES doesn't start for almost a week, but you wouldn't know that from a casual glance at the tech news today. Not content with whetting our appetites with real-life hardware at the show, Sony Ericsson released the teaser image below just to get our nerdy hands twitching. You can bet your bonnet we'll be seeing whatever this thing is in Las Vegas.

Sony Ericsson announces “something big is coming” next week

So it looks like Sony Ericsson, soon to be Sony is gearing up for some exciting news at CES. Stating today on multiple social network sites that they have "interesting news" and that "something big is coming" sometime next week. Obviously this will most likely be their next flagship phone, but we can't say for sure.

Sony Ericsson LT28at 4G LTE 4.55″ 720p phone leaked with 13 megapixel camera

It appears that SONY really is going all in with Android because the details of this latest leaked phone sound extremely nice. This 4.55" 1280 x 720p reality display packing smartphone is headed for AT&T with an awesome display and an equally impressive camera to snap some high quality beautiful photos. Leaked as the LT28at this phone could very well be their next flagship device and seen at CES 2012 coming up shortly. More details and photo samples below.

Sony Ericcson schedules ICS updates for March and April 2012

Wondering when your shiny XPERIA phone will get a new lease on life thanks to Ice Cream Sandwich? If Sony Ericsson's corporate blog is to be believed, it could be as soon as... March. The company said that the Xperia arc S, neo V and ray (the capitalization handicapped models) would be getting the first updates, while the arc, Play, neo, mini, pro, mini pro, and active models would follow in April and May.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc HD: Spyshot

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc HD has surfaced again today in a quick spyshot from what seems to be Hong Kong. We saw just yesterday a leaked press image of the device, and most noticeable is the glowing ring that paths around the bottom. The softkeys are definitely there, but the glow is probably just for looks - and that's fine by me. From this new image, it's safe to say the Arc HD will come in both black and white models.

Sony Ericsson Arc HD and more HD devices leaked in user agent profiles

We've heard rumors and even seen pictures of the next Sony Ericsson smartphone rocking a 1280 x 720p HD display but now we have a few more on the horizon. In a set of user agent profiles that were leaked we can now confirm the Arc HD (LT26i) will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread and has a 720p HD display just like the recently leaked photos suggested. Along with that we have a few more profiles also leaked.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD in the works with 720p display

Sony Ericsson is planning what we are hearing will be called the Xperia Arc HD with a brilliant 1280 x 720p display using their BRAVIA engine. Now we should probably just call them SONY since they bought out Ericsson's half recently. So, Sony is prepping a new 720p smartphone to add to their lineup. We've heard rumors of the Nozomi packing a 720p screen and possibly a 1.5 GHz dual-core, could this be the same phone?

CyanogenMod and FreeXperia team up to offer CM7 on 10 Sony Ericsson devices

Back in August we first heard a few minor details that the members of CyanogenMod were planning to support more device, especially a wide array of Sony Ericsson smartphones. Yesterday Cyanogen himself (Steve Kondik) confirmed support for 10 new SE phones over on Google+. With a joint effort by the CM team and the group known as FreeXperia we can expect to see CM7 and future releases support many Sony Ericsson and Xperia play devices moving forward.
