We recently learned the OUYA game console would be shipping with a refreshed controller. But it looks like the folks at OUYA have just unveiled a refresh that may be a bit more noticeable — a new color console. Available for pre-order beginning today, the OUYA console is available in a Limited Edition White.

This limited edition package has both the console and controller in white. And along with a new color, there is more internal storage and a bit higher price tag. The white OUYA has 16GB of internal storage (up from 8GB) and is priced at $129.99. For now this is listed as being a holiday edition and available for a limited time.

Otherwise, the regular model remains available and priced at $99.99. Regardless of whether you grab the original color or the limited edition white model, the overall features remain the same. Basically, that is to say you are buying an Android game console and will have the ability to test drive each and every game before making a purchase.

At present OUYA claims more than 500 games as being available. As for the system itself, OUYA is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor with 1GB of RAM. While the internal storage will vary depending on color, the system does have support for external storage by way of the USB port. OUYA has a USB 2.0 port and a microUSB port. Remaining specs include WiFi, Ethernet, Bluetooth and HDMI to connect to the television.

We have yet to have any hands-on time with this new Limited Edition White OUYA, however we have spent some time with the original model. Our thoughts, along with some images and video can be seen in our OUYA review post. Keep in mind though, OUYA is expected to get an interface refresh later this month.

    • Ouya is dead. There’s no reason to purchase one now. It is obsolete, the hardware is outdated and really has no huge game library. It’s a massive failure and they need a Ouya 2 ASAP
