We were waiting for this, now it has happened. Just a few days after OPPO revealed their dual surprise package to the world (well, to China, but yeah) via a TV ad showing the OPPO R7 flagship phone and the “bezel-less” OPPO R7 Plus – we now have a clear idea of what the OPPO R7 plus is hiding under the hood via an appearance at GFXBench.

So what do we have? Well, it’s 5.9-inch full HD (1080p) display, powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795M) chipset. That’s backed up by 3GB or RAM and 32GB of internal storage. There’s a curious 7MP/7MP camera pairing, but better to give you the same image quality for your selfies, it seems. All of these run on an Android 5.0 platform.

From the looks of it, it’s definitely not a flagship phone, although we would be surprised if it doesn’t do the job for you. It’s specced so that you won’t have to think about the specs, but not scare you with the pricing as well. All in all, good hardware choices for OPPO for the market they want to hit – that is, this will sell for cheaper than most upper mid-tier phones.

This phone will be set apart by the light bending “no bezel” feature, and the fingerprint sensor at the back. We are assuming that the standard R7 will have better specs than this, its smaller brother priced at around USD$480. We have no word yet on the pricing of the OPPO R7 Plus.
