OPPO N1 CyanogenMod edition tipped with a late November ETA

The OPPO N1 smartphone was unveiled back in September. At that time there was mention of the handset arriving from early-December. The initial launch was going to be for China, but as we recently saw, the handset has been announced in Indonesia as well. The catch is, while we are expecting a further global roll-out, the official details on when and where remain on the light side.

While the OPPO N1 has some highlight features including the O-Touch touch panel on the back and the 206 degree rotating 13 megapixel camera -- it also arrived with news of a Cyanogen partnership. Keeping with the bit about having yet to see any further official rollout details, there has been a leak. The leak comes by way of a Cyanogen presentation slide and points towards November.

According to the slide, the OPPO N1 will feature innovative hardware and offer your choice in software. That goes back to the bit about how you will be able to choose whether you want to install CyanogenMod or run the standard Android installation from OPPO. Anyway, this presentation slide then points towards the CyanogenMod Edition N1 as coming at "end of November." Of course, that doesn't offer anything in terms of which market.

Similar to the regular model OPPO N1, we suspect this one will land in China first. And for those outside of China, particularly in the US market, the handset will likely be available unlocked and without direct carrier interference. This means users could potentially have the option to pick it up contract free and with GSM support (AT&T or T-Mobile), but with a non-subsidized purchase price.

Otherwise, aside from running Cyanogen and sporting a 13 megapixel camera, the OPPO N1 feature set includes a 5.9-inch 1080p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM and options for 16GB or 32GB of internal storage.
