OnePlus had already confirmed the One smartphone would be powered by Snapdragon. More specifically, by a Snapdragon 801 processor. But while we had that piece of the puzzle, there was still plenty more we were curious about. Coming as a nice follow-up to the teaser unboxing video we saw yesterday — additional details regarding the processor have since been confirmed.

The folks at OnePlus have said the One will have a Snapdragon 801 8974AC which is clocked at 2.5GHz. Some may remember the OnePlus One was originally expected to ship with a Snapdragon 800 processor. To that point, OnePlus mentioned how they “wanted to bring the real-world performance enhancements gained from the many improvements” the 801 has over the 800.

But in addition, there was also confirmation the GPU would clock in at 578MHz and about how this setup would make use of the eMMC 5.0 standard, which should “help to greatly improve the interface speed.” The OnePlus One will also be launching with 3GB of RAM. All this of course, is leading up to the April 23rd launch date.

Aside from the 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 8974AC processor and 3GB of RAM, the OnePlus One will also have a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 3100 mAh battery and 13MP rear-facing camera. There has yet to be any announcement in terms of US pricing, however OnePlus did confirm the European price would be “under” 350 euros.

  1. I’m all for supporting new products and innovations, but has anyone heard anything about their production plans, and forecasts for how many units they’ll ship?

OnePlus are doing a great job of drip feeding information and press releases to the media, but how many units are they predicting they will produce, and their commitment to ongoing support of the product?

    • Since the CEO is a from OPPO they are using OPPO factories and 2 year Cyanogenmod support. As for how many units not sure.
