Team Win Recovery Project – otherwise known as TWRP – is usually the “go to” custom recovery for those who like to tweak their Android device’s software. Apart from the touch interface, TWRP is just that much better than the custom recoveries that came before it that it has already dethroned as of today. So it should be glad news for owners of these Samsung and Sony devices that official TWRP builds have come out for their devices.

Usually, TWRP custom recoveries are tweaked by after-market developers so that they can be used for devices that are not on the official support list. But it’s still nice to have the developer team put out official builds for your specific device. This ensures that the device has been analyzed and studied correctly so that an official build can be released.

Here is the list (and links to download the flashable files) of the new devices supported:

Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8.0 (Exynos version)
Samsung Galaxy On5 (T-Mobile/MetroPCS)
Sony Xperia TX
Sony Xperia V
Yu Yutopia
Alcatel Pop C2
BQ Aquaris X5 Plus

Please remember that flashing a custom recovery will most likely void whatever warranty you have with your device’s manufacturer, so be informed about it. Flashing a custom recovery also sometimes results in bricked devices, so it would be good to make sure you have a good backup of your data before flashing these files.
