We’ve been too busy checking out which smartphones are going to get the latest Android Marshmallow update that we forgot which tablets are getting the same. Well, we still don’t know that but what we have is information that two tablets are receiving official CyanogenMod support. Two Samsung tablets are getting the CM love–the Tab S 8.4 LTE and the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 WiFi.

These two Android tablets are lucky to CyanogenMod support. Actually, this is expected but it took some time as the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 Wi-Fi received official support earlier this year. We knew then it was only a matter of time. And since only the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE and the WiFi variant of Galaxy Tab S 10.5 are included in this round, we’re guessing the LTE version of the latter will soon follow.

Nightly builds of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE and the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 WiFi are now available to download:

CyanogenMod Downloads – Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Wi-Fi
CyanogenMod Downloads – Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE

These builds may be considered the official CyanogenMod support but as we’d always say–PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK. Just a few more reminders: make sure your device is rooted, you’re ready to void warrant, and that you are flashing the nightly build on the correct device. Believe it or not, there are some people who still can’t follow instructions. Don’t be the kind of Android geek.

  1. FINALLY! Someone asking about tablets. Thanknyou.

When will the 2015 Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 get to go to 6.0? I have the 64GB version and hope and pray Samsung will not forget it.

    • I just installed CM12 on my Tab S 10.5. Its amazing. Love it. Will not be reinstalling TouchWiz. l’m hoping for Marshmallow CM13 soon.

By the way, good luck waiting for Marshmallow on your Tab S2 through Samsung. Great tablet even without Marshmallow, though.

As always with Samsung, they make great hardware, which is hampered by bloated TouchWiz.

      • I just got a 32gb Galaxy Tab S2 8.4. Rooted it and removed nearly everything samsung, microsoft (Kind of odd they include Excel, Word, powerpoint, and One Note, yet the Play store says the device isn’t supported hence no updates) I removed all ANT+ crap, and pretty much everything not required to run the device. I tried to install the UK version of Android 6.0.1, but it wouldn’t even see my 5g Wireless (The US and UK use different frequencies for that) and I could NOT format my 128gb SD card as internal storage like I can my LG V400 tablet that’s 3 years old. So I’m not sure if the hardware difference is enough to keep the sd card from being formatted as internal, Samsung has disabled it, or the CM13 on the LG has been modded to format it as such. I’m more inclined to think Samsung disabled it or the hardware difference, as minute as it may be, is hampering this feature.

  2. does anyone know where the TabS wifi 10.5 (not s2) can be purchased in Canada ? Ready to buy it and cant find it anywhere!!!
