Google has posted the factory image and binaries for the new Nexus 7. The files are available by way of the Google Developers page and are listed as being for the 2013 Nexus 7 under the codename of “razor.” As one would have expected, the factory image file is labeled as being Android 4.3 with JSS15J. This file clocks in at 340MB in size.

Looking towards the binaries page and we find a few options available. This is actually available as three separate files with one coming from ASUS, one from Broadcom and one from Qualcomm. The ASUS file includes drivers for the audio and sensors, the Broadcom file is for NFC and Qualcomm rounds things out with the largest of the bunch.

This file includes drivers for the graphics, camera, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, sensors, media, DRM, DSP and USB. Of course, all that aside, the release of these files (the factory image in particular) mean users now have a simple option to get things back to stock should they decide to do some playing and end up messing things up.

Those planning to test out various ROMs on their new Nexus 7 may want to download the factory image file ahead of time in an effort to speed things up should something go wrong. It also may be nice to have on hand because in the past we have seen image files disappear (for a short time).

The other aspect of these files comes in with custom ROMs. Basically now that we have these all available the playing and development can really begin. This all aside, we have yet to see anything in terms of what this release means for Jean-Baptiste Quéru. If you remember back to earlier in the week, he shared a bit on Google+ about how he was quitting the AOSP over issues with this release.
