There has been no shortage of leaks lately surrounding ASUS and Google’s new Nexus 7 tablet, but this morning we just received the best one yet. While they aren’t crisp live images, the folks from Android Police received an entire gallery of press images. Seeing every angle you’d like, including a fresh new wallpaper which hints at Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on board. Since previous images were showing the latest 4.2.2 builds stock background.

These leaks reveal all sorts of information. Along with a stunning and beautiful design, sadly we have rather large bezels on the top and bottom to go along with the newly improved sleeker side bezels. The time reads 4:30 (hint hint) and we can now confirm the new Nexus 7 will indeed have a RGB LED notification light on bottom, just like the Nexus 4.

Google is set to unveil the new slate (and hopefully new OS update) on July 24th at an event in SF, and we’ll be there live of course with all the details. The top image shows us some awesome looking new stereo speakers on both the top, and bottom, although sadly they aren’t front facing like the HTC One. Hopefully that will be on the Nexus 7 3.

We know essentially all the details by now, so we’ll just have to wait for the official release. a 7-inch 1920 x 1080p HD display, quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, and both 16 and 32GB flavors for $229 and $269. We’re loving the design, but wish those top and bottom bezels weren’t so big. Oh, and we can clearly see a SIM slot in these images, so an LTE model is coming soon even if we haven’t seen any pricing or details leaked.

Check em out below. Who’s buying one later this week? It’s rumored to hit stores on July 30th.

  1. So yea, I’m currently trying to see my HP Touchpad an current Nexus 7, if I do I’ll end up buying one of these badboys. The display will be awesome. I keep seeing its 1920×1200 pixel display. One thing is I just don’t like the super thick bezel all the way around…

      • I know, wish they would of shrunk it down more. From the front it makes it look like every other cheap 7 -Incher out there. But it’ll be a low priced solid piece of Android goodness, so I’ll deal with it

      • Now that I look at the pic more, it looks like the side bezels are smaller than originally thought. The black bar for on screen buttons makes it look like more bezel

      • Yea the sides are a bit thinner, but the bottom an top suck.. The should of thrown in front facing speakers with all that room. Would be no complaints!

      • HP Touchpad sold!! New Nexus 7 money in pocket now! I made a new rule, I gotta sell one to buy one!

  2. Does anyone know why the camera is off centre, just wondering why the change from the centre placed camera on the original nexus 7?

      • Wouldn’t be your thumb, would it? If you’re taking a photo, your thumb would be on the screen side and your fingers would be against the back, which is facing outwards. Unless you’re taking a picture of yourself, of course.

  3. NOOOOOO.. please please dont be picking up the awful touchwiz green android 4.3 🙁 look at the battery and wifi icons 🙁

  4. Thank goodness Snapdragon 600 and not those terrible S4 Pro rumours, 2 GB RAM, 1080p screen, I’m in, so long as we haven’t been conned, by the rumour mill like at Google I/O.

  5. It is snapdragon s4 pro not 600 in the images leaked, however if I’m wrong then ill strip down and hump a picture of it on my screen, shortly after ill be buying a new tablet and screen.

    • Another impressive tablet to launch this week is the new Pipo M7 Pro ($255) that for about the same price as the Nexus 7 II, offers a much larger 8.9 inch display with 1900×1200 resolution, a Quad core processor, along with built-in GPS navigation… and is packed with other features that rival the new Nexus — an 8″ model similar to the mini iPad also became available last week – the Pipo U8 ($195) — both new tablets are available through T ab l e t S p r i n t– which also features $25 in Bonus Apps, including an Office Suite App and several premium 3D Games, including the popular Shadowgun…

      • Nice to know but according to benchmarks its gpu is about half the speed of the snapdragon s4 pro, and I’m looking for a gaming tablet as e3-2013 showed us mobile AAA gaming is coming to tablets.

I also live in England so it may not be available to me.

      • I wish they would have thrown the Snapdragon 800 in the new N7. But i guess they couldn’t at where they wanted to price the device

      • I heard good things about snapdragon 800, rumor has it that it uses Adreno 330 so its games should be blazing fast and very stable fps.

Shame we can’t build tablets like we can in computers, I would build a tablet similar to nexus 7 but the cameras removed and the snapdraon800 inside.

  6. Stop complaining about bezels, what the hell is wrong with you people? I need something to hold on to. It looks wonderful. You people are idiots.
