Nexus 5 case options now available from the Play Store

Google had a few case options listed in the Play Store when the Nexus 5 arrived, however they were just that, listings. There was the Bumper Case and LG QuickCover, but neither were available for purchase at the time. We recently saw Google release the Nexus Wireless Charger and it looks like they also updated the case and cover product listings at the same time.

The Nexus 5 Bumper Case is priced at $34.99 and available in a variety of colors. Specifically, this is available in black, grey, bright red and bright yellow. The catch at the moment is only two of the four colors are shipping right now. The Play Store listing shows the red and yellow as being ready to ship out on 1-2 business days. The black and grey are still listed as coming soon.

The LG QuickCover is the more expensive case option here. This one is priced at $49.99 and available in two colors -- a device matching black and/or white. Both reflect a 1-2 business day shipping timeframe and are described as being a custom-fit unibody case that provides quick access to your phone.

To that point, the QuickCover offers front and rear protection for your Nexus 5 and also turns the display on when the cover is flipped open. Otherwise, both the Bumper Case and QuickCover are noted as working with the Nexus Wireless Charger. And for those concerned with adding extra weight to your device, the Bumper Case will add an extra 19 grams while the QuickCover will add an extra 39 grams.

Both are WAY WAY WAY overpriced. You can get the bumper case on ebay or Amazon for $10 or less (I paid $5 and that included shipping). The QuickCover is the one I wanted but no way am I spending $50 for it.

I know why you want to keep people on your site, but don’t you think it would be nice on a story like this to actually include a link to the Play web site?

i like the quickcover – but why did they forget to leave a hole for the notification led?
