We’ve known Nextbit for a while now and we’ve seen how the startup has evolved from being a group founded by a former Googler to receiving a sizable amount of funding. The company did release the Baton project which was made available on CyanogenMod, but lo and behold, the group soon announced they would be rebooting as a new smartphone maker. Nextbit launched the Nextbit Robin back in September as the first cloud-first handset.

A Verizon model was said to be available and the phone was soon listed up for pre-order. And finally, after months of waiting, the Nextbit Robin will soon start shipping to backers who sent in their pledges through Kickstarter as part of the first wave.

The first batch of phones that will be delivered are the GSM models only for T-Mobile and AT&T. No CDMA version is available yet but Nextbit could be planning that one. To review, the Nextbit Robin comes equipped with a 5.2-inch screen, Full HD (1080p) display, hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 32GB internal storage, 3GB RAM, 100GB cloud storage, 13MP camera, 5MP selfie camera, Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi, NFC, fingerprint sensor, and a 2680 mAh battery.

If you’re one of the generous and kind ones who sent in their support for the Nextbit Robin, expect to receive your units beginning February 16. Check out our hands on gallery below:

It is available for preorder, as noted earlier in the article.

Ship date != delivery date, but thanks for the Robin coverage.
