For people who regularly tweak their Android devices, the ADB driver (Android Debug Bridge) is an essential element of gaining control over what goes on with the connection between the device you’re tweaking and your computer. But too many times, it is just a pain in the backside looking for a certain device’s official ADB drivers, or at least, an ADB version that works with your specific device. The developers behind the Universal ADB Driver aim to lessen the frustration by giving you a driver that will work with most devices.

This is the second public release of the Universal ADB Driver, developed by “HardcoreHacker”. The first one incorporated around 425 devices, and so that total has been increased by almost 100 new devices supported for this second release. You can be sure that the big names are there, like Samsung, HTC, LG, and Sony. But the wonder of this driver is that it supports devices that you had no idea even existed.

With this new release, a slew of devices from FUJITSU are now supported, a few Google Nexus devices including the Google Nexus One, Google Nexus S, Google Nexus 7, Google Nexus Q and the generic Google Nexus. Chinese brand Gionee also gets support in this release.

If you ever need an ADB driver that will work with one of the lesser known brands, this could be your new go-to tool. Bookmark it, install it, and tell us your stories about it.
