New nest camera

Google’s acquisition of Nest was never in vain. It did good to both companies with Nest now working with Google Now voice commands. Smart home may still be in its early stages but Nest is one of those in the frontiers of technology and just recently, it has unveiled a new wireless camera aptly called as the Nest Cam.

The Nest Cam may remind you of the Dropcam, whose app was previously integrated with the Nest hardware. And since Dropcam is now also owned by Nest, it’s quite obvious that the latter used Dropcam’s design. Sources say the new Nest Cam was being tested as the Dropcam Pro but with Nest logo now found at the front of the device.

Nest Cam seems sleeker and slimmer it should fit any shelf. It looks like a robot eye watching you closely so I guess it’s better if you hide this somewhere else. Your guests might feel conscious about a camera spying on them. This wireless camera has yet to be unveiled by Google or Nest officially but device is said to allow full 1080p video recording and streaming, Bluetooth connectivity, and QR code reading.

We can also expect the Nest Cam app to be updated as well. We know that it’s getting a new look and feel. It won’t be just an ordinary update but a major overhaul adding more Dropcam and Nest services and a make over of its user interface. We’ll soon see a slide-down menu and a button-heavy interface. The Nest app should be able to show other Dropcam cameras available include their statuses. The Nest app will still be able to control Nest Thermostat and Protect.
