The first rule of Punch Club is, tell everybody about Punch Club (since it’s still a new game of course). This boxing tycoon management game has kind of a tragic backstory but instead of using actual therapy to help you heal, it will teach you to punch the living daylights out of other people through the sport (or even not as a sport). You can choose to legitimately reach your goal or to find other nefarious ways to do so.

Just like Batman, your parent, specifically your father, was brutally murdered in front of your very eyes. But you don’t become a caped crusader, unfortunately. But you do learn to fight by becoming a boxer, which includes training, bulking up, and then slowly (or fast, if you’re that good) climbing up the rankings. You will develop your strength, accuracy, and agility as you train and become the best boxer in the game.

Punch Club actually has several branching storylines and every decision you make will affect where the story will end up. Of course part of your driving force would be to find out who killed your father. Unless you don’t care about that and would just like to punch people continuously. In that case, you’re probably choosing the more dangerous and shady route and not the enlightened Way of the Turtle or Way of the Tiger.

The game uses a lot of 80s-90s references and uses pixel-type visuals. So those who were old enough to live in that era will be filled with nostalgia. You can download Punch Club from the Google Play Store for $4.99 and there are no more in-app purchases needed, everything’s all in.
